Euripides Loukis

Dr Euripidis Loukis is Professor of Information Systems & Decision Support Systems at the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean. Previously, he has been Professor at the Postgraduate Program of the National Academy of Public Administration in the area of e-Government, and also at the Postgraduate Program ‘Athens MBA’ of the National Technical University of Athens and the Athens University of Economics and Business, and at the University of Thessaly, in the area of Information Systems.

He has an extensive experience as Information Systems Advisor at the Ministry to the Presidency of the Government of Greece (1991-2002). Also he has been Technical Director of the Program of Modernization of Public Administration of the Second Community Support Framework (1994-1996), Technical Advisor of the Ministry of Culture and Sports for ICTs issues (1995-2000) and National Representative of Greece in the programs ‘Telematics’ (1994-1998) and ‘IDA’ (Interchange of Data between Admnistrations) (1994-2002) of the European Union.

He is the author of several scientific articles in international journals and conferences, and of several book chapters, in the area of information systems and decision support systems. One of his papers has been honored with the International Award of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Also, according to a recent study of the University of Washington, USA, he is among the top 20 researchers of the e-government domain. He has extensive experience from numerous national and international research projects, in cooperation with the Federation of Greek Industries, the Hellenic Banks Association, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), the National Environmental Research Institute of Denmark, the Ministry of Environment of Lower Saxony, the University of Koblenz, the University of Regensburg, the University of Masaryk, the Fondazione IARD, etc.
