Miguel Alvarez Rodriguez

Miguel holds a Telecommunication Engineer degree and a Master in Business Administration. He is IT senior official of the European Commission as well as of the the Spanish government. He has more than thirteen years of work experience as project manager of interoperability and digital solutions in national and European public administrations. At the moment he works at the interoperability Unit of the Director of Informatics of the European Commission as Programme Manager where he manages several projects dealing with all the four levels of interoperability (legal, organizational, semantic, technical). Before joining the European Commission, he worked as official of the Spanish government as responsible of the digital infrastructures and services for the creation and validation of the national eID card and digital signatures. His job combines the European observatory of interoperability and the EIF, with more technical work on data models and interoperability solutions.
